 Dr. Burkland | Our Staff
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Cornell University, Dr. Burkland went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and was valedictorian of his class. From there, he entered Harvard University and earned a Certificate of Orthodontics, allowing him to become a specialist.
Dr. Burkland strives for continued excellence in orthodontics. He has been an instructor and Assistant Professor in Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and currently teaches at Temple University. He has lectured both nationally and internationally and continues to publish articles to his specialty.
Dr. Burkland is a member of an elite group of orthodontists who are "Board Certified." This credential is only awarded to orthodontists who have completed stringent oral and written tests, along with case presentation. Dr. Burkland is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Burkland resides in West Chester with his wife and has 3 children. When he is not practicing orthodontics, he enjoys playing pool and working on his cars.
